About The Chick
Who is Adchick?
Living the dream in the middle of nowhere, on my own for almost 28 years. You big agency types have no idea the fun you’re missing trying to do it all…I’m a writer, account manager, media planner, head of accounting and personnel, food stylist, prop supervisor, art director, floor washer and on-camera talent…usually not all at the same time. Been doing this too long to be too nice to the clients. Outspoken, sensitive and finally, naïve no more.
Hello Adchick! Was excited to see my name on your Blogroll. Horray! I’ll totally drink to that.
Loving your blog.
If I read correctly, you’ve dipped your toe into healthcare marketing? By day, I creep the halls of Grey (G2 actually), sometimes wandering into pharmaceutical meetings and ranting about Web 2.0 and how everything is wrong.
Curious to read more on the blog, and maybe find out where Hooterville is.
Best,
Josh
I like your blog alot. Very catchy, very well-written. The right amount of experience blended with sarcasm and cynicism. Love it.
I want the Adchick’s true identity. glaudenslager@gmail.com
Thanks for the blogroll add. I’ve returned the favor.

Hi Adchick!
I’m not sure if we’ve ever met but I’m the Chairman & Chief Creative Officer at Euro RSCG Chicago.
I am also a blogger (godsofadvertising.wordpress.com) and novelist.
I would like to send you a copy of my new novel, The Happy Soul Industry for a review or criticism.
It’s a modern fable about God and advertising and I think you’ll enjoy it.
If you’re interested, please provide your postal address.
Thank you,
Steffan

Re: The Ad Chick Trademark
Dear Business Owner:
It has been brought to our attention that your blog, Ad Chick, has been using the trademark Ad Chick, in association with the marketing, sale, or disbanding of information of your products & services. It is possible that you were unaware of this conflict, so we believe that it is in our mutual interest to bring this matter to your attention.
The Ad Chick is a registered trademark (U.S. Reg. No. 3,561,958) of our business, The Ad Chick.

It is important that we exercise our right to protect our trademark. It serves as an important and distinctive representation of the origin of our products as well as the goodwill of our company.
State and federal law supports our position that confusingly similar trademarks may cause confusion among customers. This confusion may cause substantial harm to the trademark by facilitating the loss of its’ effectiveness in establishing a distinct association between it, our products & services, and our company’s goodwill.
Due to these concerns, and because unauthorized use of our federally registe red trademark amounts to an infringement of our trademark rights, we respective ly request that you cease & desist in any further use of Ad Chick in association with the marketing, sale, distribution, or identification of your products, or services.

We hope that this issue may be resolved this way so we can avoid any further legal remedies as provided by state law and the U.S. Trademark Act.

Hi Ad Chick,
Just stumbled across your blog and I love it!
(I’m also a fan of the Dos Equis spots. They are some of the few commercials I actually enjoy watching).
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Marcie
Marcie: you know, i think that wonderful Ad Contrarian brings people together! HA! Thanks for such nice words…I’m just venting a little and having fun! Now I’m going to visit you! Susan
Ad Chick,
Thanks for the kind words regarding my Headline-A-Day page. Much appreciated.
I am enjoying your posts, too.

Do you Tweet?

Yes, I do. adchick22 Thanks for stopping by. I’ll find you in Twitterland!
Hi Adchick, I came here via George Parker’s AdScam blog and I’m glad I found you. I like the vibe here and will bookmark and revisit. I’m a twice-published author and I work in web marketing/social networking/affiliates and have been eating up anything I can lately as the whole social thing has gone bonkers.
Not sure what the success rate is for it though..?
All the best.
I saw a twitter feed that was pretty funny
and YOU’RE pretty funny so…
it’s @badtaglines
nice ad humor!
I tried to follow you on twitter.
Apparently you’ve been registered since 2007, you follow no one, and you’ve made just one tweet.
Are you sure you’re putting your heart and soul into it?
Love your blog, added it to my blogroll, if you can return the favor, it would be awesome!

Very true! I was incensed that someone else was using “my” trademarked name (but only at first). Quite honestly, time passed and reading your blog is much more valuable to me then trying to put the kibosh on such wonderful talent. You are my mentor my dear feather friend.
Nancy – Just another chick
I have placed a link going to “AD CHICK” on my two blogs. I have placed the link on the front page along the left side. I would like to use an image of your blog logo as the link button, unfortunately, I’m not able to download your image. I had to use a text link. If you wouldn’t mind for me to use the logo, could you email the image to me? Of course, that all depends on if you agree that my blogs would compliment your blog. If possible, I would appreciate it if you could exchange links with my two blogs. I have already placed links on my two sites.
The url where your link is located:
SENTIMENTAL JOURNEYS (pop culture memories from 1940 – 2010)
http://www.sentimental-journeys.com
I SAW AN EYESORE BILLBOARD (my musings on my love/hate feelings over billboards – love the ads, and hate the blighted landscape) http://isawaneyesorebillboard.com
The SENTIMENTAL JOURNEYS blog has my opinions on pop culture advertising (print & TV commercial), classic TV shows, TV stars, politics & toys. Anything that could vaguely be classified as POP CULTURE, from the 1940s to the early 2000s, might be seen on my blog.
The I SAW AN EYESORE BILLBOARD is a photo blog, which has a few sentences/paragraphs of commentary.
I appreciate any consideration that you may wish to show.
Thank you very much for your time.

P.S. I love that ad from Rockford. Do you know who made it?
